Sea green and sparkles

My nails of the week feature a sea-inspired sparkly mani! After seeing so many deep blue sea hues around fashion land this week, I thought I'd give it a try on my nails (as I'm not really into wearing ocean colours). It's not quite reminiscent of what Ariel would wear if you could even paint your nails under water, but it'll do me just fine!
Just discovered the OPI Germany collection so stay tuned for pics of that soon!

OPI Nicki Minaj collection

Another nail polish post this week as the Nicki Minaj for OPI collection just fell on my door mat. I had to quickly test them all out and now have a hand which reminds me of the ice truck killer! Application was easy and the formula not too thick or thin. My favourites so far are the baby pink (Pink Friday) and vivid turquoise (Fly). Will you be jumping on the OPI bandwagon?

Happy Nails

Catrice Bye, Bye Birdy! and Sing: Hey, Dirty-Lilah!
Excuse my (in blogosphere terms extremely long) absence from the blog. Call it laziness, call it lack of inspiration or just call it being crazy busy at work, call it what you want. To get you in the mood for summer which has finally reared its sleepy head, here is my latest attempt at some fun nail art. For a truly great nail art blog visit Pshiit. I wore this out to a festival over the weekend (De Zon for those in the know) and won a couple of smiles. Unfortunately I had to cover it up for my stage debut yesterday at Pakhuis de Zwijger – more on that later.
In other nail-related news, the Nicki Minaj for OPI collection is on its way in its entirety as we speak.
Here's a picture of Lin and me at the silent disco (hence the headphones)!

New In - OPI Holland Collection

I am always very excited after placing an order with my favourite Ebay shop: Justpolish. Although I know it will take up to three weeks to arrive, it's well worth the wait as OPI varnishes go for a fraction of the price in the US (compared to the limited sale points here in Amsterdam). In addition to fashion and lifestyle blogs, I like to keep up with the nailpolish blogs and couldn't wait to get my hands (or indeed nails) on the new OPI Holland collection. With names like Gouda Gouda Two Shoes, Thanks a Windmillion and Pedal Faster Suzi!, who could resist?
My favourite so far is the hot pink Kiss me on my Tulips, which seems to have a bluish undertone and seems almost neon in sunlight. With the current weather situation, bright nails will definitely be cheering me up this week!

Get your nails did!

I love playing around with nail art and have been since I can remember. I used to cut out my own stickers to make stripy patterns but now that nail art has become a big thing, you can buy supplies anywhere!
For nail art I’m a big fan of Essence because it’s cheap and it works. My go-to brands for nail varnish are Chanel (obv), OPI (imported from the USA for a fraction of the price), Catrice (a bargain at €2,50 and updated colours monthly) and Koh (so expensive it comes in a case).
A a self-confessed shopaholic I’m often left with a bit of month at the end of my money so nail varnish (which ranges from €1 to €25) can always provide a quick fix :)
These nails were all done freehand, and I’ll be sure to make a DIY in the near future!
